@Adam Gardner I've done this for about two or three weeks now. Only looking at it every so often to try and distance myself as much as possible to see it from another side. For me, it hasn't been much help. I hope it's a different story for you though.
If anything, it's reinforced two big ideas for me: 1) to some extent you need the keys to make sense of the poem and vice versa and 2) finding the end is crucial.
Like Dolos has implied if you don't have that then you really don't have anything at all because you don't have a place to begin.
Of course, I could be completely wrong and haven't forgot everything I need to forget in order to understand the bigger picture.
In that case, I better make a visit to the banks of Lethe.
